THAILE 140x60 CM Walking Pad Mat Protects Carpet Under Treadmill Mat | Non-Slip

What size is this Walking pad mat and will it fit under my treadmill?

This version measures 140cm long by 60cm wide and 0.4cm thick. That makes it 9% larger than the standard 130x60cm mats sold elsewhere. It fits most compact treadmills walking pads exercise bikes and weight benches. If your equipment is bigger THAILE also sells it in 160x75cm and three sizes of 200x100cm with thickness options of 0.4cm 0.5cm and 0.6cm. Measure your machine's footprint first and add a few centimetres on each side so your feet stay on the mat during use.

What material is the mat made from and how durable is it?

It's made from high-density heavy-duty PVC. This material is designed to handle the weight and movement of home gym equipment without tearing or sagging over time. Reviews back this up. Over 1,194 customers have rated it and it holds a 4.6 star average with 77% giving it five stars. That said 11 reviewers mentioned durability directly with mixed results. Five found it sturdy while six felt it was flimsy. One customer running a walking pad on it for months called it durable and easy to store away after use.

Does it actually reduce noise from my treadmill or walking pad?

Yes to an extent. The PVC layer absorbs vibration and cuts down on the thud and rattle that equipment can make on hard floors. One reviewer with a treadmill upstairs said it "does limit the noise downstairs but not massively." Another said it "stops vibration from the treadmill" effectively. So expect a noticeable drop in noise and impact rather than complete silence. Six reviewers mentioned noise specifically and four found the reduction worthwhile.

Is it waterproof and how do I clean it?

The surface is water-resistant so sweat or spilt water won't soak through to your carpet or wooden floor underneath. Cleaning is simple. Just wipe it down with a damp cloth after your workout. No special cleaning products or machine washing needed. This also makes it practical for daily use since you can quickly wipe away sweat between sessions without waiting for it to air dry.

Will it slip on hardwood floors or carpet?

No. Both sides have anti-slip texturing built in. This keeps the mat fixed in place during intense workouts and stops your equipment shifting around mid-session. Seven reviewers mentioned the non-slip grip and all seven were positive about it. One customer noted "no issues with the pad slipping or sliding once I get it in position" even with a walking pad running on top of it on carpet.

Does the mat smell when it first arrives?

Some customers noticed a slight smell when they unboxed it. This is common with new PVC products. THAILE recommends airing it out in a ventilated room for one to two days before use and keeping pets and children away while it airs. One reviewer confirmed "after a short period of time the smell was gone" with no lasting issues. If you're sensitive to smells plan to unpack it a day or two before you need it.

How thick is it and does that affect stability?

At 0.4cm thick it's slim enough to not create a tripping hazard but has some built-in cushioning. Opinions are mixed though. Twelve reviewers commented on thickness with eight finding it thinner than expected and four saying it was just right. One customer said it "felt a little thin when it first arrived but it's the perfect depth for our walking pad." Another noted their treadmill "dips a little in the middle" on carpet but said it didn't affect performance in any major way. If you want more cushioning the 0.5cm or 0.6cm versions in the 200x100cm size are available.

Can I fold it for storage and what else should I know before buying?

Yes the Walking pad mat folds down to a compact size so it fits into a cupboard or even a backpack. Six reviewers mentioned the folding design and five were happy with how neatly it packs away. One customer said it "folds up well if you don't need it" and praised the lack of creases even after folding for a few hours. It's made by THAILE under model number FY0206US60101 and manufactured in China. The product also carries a ClimatePartner Verified certification (certification number M2L6MU) confirming that carbon emissions from its life cycle have been measured and reduced or offset. It currently ranks 3rd in the exercise equipment mats category and 894th in Sports and Outdoors on Amazon with over 600 units sold in the past month.
